titleOfInvention | Needle protector for sewing machine |
abstract | The needle guard device of a sewing machine of this invention is provided with a needle guard member 15, which is brought into contact with a needle 9 to guide the needle 9 to move along a regular vertical moving track when the needle 9 is made to cooperate with a looper 34 to form a stitch, and a needle guard swing mechanism for causing a needle guard board 13 having the needle guard member 15 to swing horizontally and vertically combinedly, to make the needle guard member 15 perform a horizontal movement along a sewing direction and a vertical movement. Thus, even if a top portion of a needle bends largely, damage of the needle, such as breaking, can be prevented, and the needle 9 and the needle guide member 15 can be maintained in contact with each other for a long time to ensure a catch of a needle thread loop by a looper 34. |
