The invention lets an electric potential control member contact a rubbing roller to make the roller have the same polarity as a substrate having an orientation film so as to control the surface potential of the rubbing roller. Under the above condition, the amount of impurity adhered to the surface of the orientation film is reduced when rubbing the surface of the orientation film, and thus an LCD device with excellent properties is formed. |
