titleOfInvention White-light LED
abstract The present invention is related to a kind of white-light LED. The phosphor layer is coated on the recessed surface of the chip-carrying base. When the phosphor layer is irradiated by a light beam, which has the first wavelength range and is emitted from the side-face and the back face of the chip, it is capable of converting and emitting a light beam having the second wavelength range that is different from the first wavelength range. By using the film-coating technique to form an anti-reflection (AR) layer or high reflection (HR) layer on the upper face of the chip for modulating the light emission from the chip upper face and further controlling the relative light-emission intensity ratio between the upper and the side-face/back face of the chip, so as to mix the first wavelength range light, which is emitted from the upper face of the chip, with the second wavelength range light, which is emitted due to the reflection of the excited phosphor layer on the carrying base surface, that can generate white light having the third wavelength range.
