titleOfInvention | An automatic synthesis apparatus for production of L-6-[18F] Fluorodopa |
abstract | The present invention provides a fully automatic controlled system, employed for the synthesis of L-6-[18F] Fluorodopa which is mainly used for the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. 18F, an artificial radioisotope with half-life of 109.8 minutes, is obtained from deuteron bombardment of the neon gas, because of its labeled compound, [18F]-F-DOPA, having capability of penetrating through brain-blood-barrier, it can be utilized to evaluate dopamine metabolism and diagnose Parkinson's disease with PET scanner. The synthesis process of L-6-[18F] Fluorodopa include fluorination, evaporation of freon, hydrolysis, neutralization, separation and collection. The advantages of this automatic system are stability and reproductivity. Also, this system shortens the synthesis time and sequentially, elevates its production rate. Therefore, not only fewer technicians are needed for production, do they reduce exposure to radioactivity. In easy terms, the actual operation procedures of this system can be divided into three steps. First, put the raw material into designed reaction bottle. Afterward, turn on power button and reactive gas valve. Forty minutes after this button is turned on, L-6-[18F] Fluorodopa can be produced for clinical applications. |
