titleOfInvention | Method of recovering p-hydroxybenzoic acid from the waste water from the process of producing p-hydroxybenzoic acid |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method of recovering p-hydroxybenzoic acid from the waste water from the process of producing p-hydroxybenzoic acid, comprising extraction of p-hydroxybenzoic acid from the waste water from the process of producing p-hydroxybenzoic acid by using organic solvents, and then extraction of p-hydroxybenzoic acid solved in the organic solvents by using basic solvents, followed by acidification and solid-liquid separation thereof, so as to obtain the crude crystal of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. The crude crystal of p-hydroxybenzoic acid can further produce p-hydroxybenzoic acid having higher purity through a re-crystallization step, or carry the esterification or etherification reaction out directly without purification, so as to obtain highly pure ester or ether compounds of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. According to the method of the present invention, the organic solvents for extraction, which can be reused repeatedly, not only recover the useful product, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, but also reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in the waste water from the process of producing p-hydroxybenzoic acid by a half thereof or more; thus the expenses for treating the waste water are greatly reduced, and the purpose of industrial waste abatement is also achieved. |
