abstract |
The subject is to provide a highly reliable and high-density data recording medium and record generation method capable of conducting track-along control. A data recording medium utilizes the focused laser beams pointing to lens with numerical hole diameters NA in generation of data, in which the substrate with disc shape and the recording layer allocated on top of substrate are alternatively placed with multiple prepit areas 110 and data area 120 along helical and concentric circular virtual track center 102 on substrate surface. The prepit area 110 consists of a pair of wobble pits 113 for track-along servo. The length L (mum) that the wobble pit 113 goes along the virtual track center 102, the wavelength lambda (mum) of the laser beam and the numerical hole diameter NA satisfy the relation: 0.3 <= L.NA/lambda <= 0.65. |
