titleOfInvention Process for the manufacture of a thermoplastic composition comprising polyphenylene ether resins
abstract The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a thermoplastic composition comprising a polyphenylene ether resin and optionally, a styrenic resin wherein the processes comprises a polyphenylene ether resin in a particulate form having less than about 5% by weight, preferably less than about 2% by weight, more preferably less than about 1% by weight, and most preferably essentially no particles less than about 75 microns in size. The particulate form allows for ease of handling of polyphenylene ether resin with a substantially reduced risk of dust ignition while obtaining substantially the same physical properties as obtained with polyphenylene ether resin powder. The invention also relates to articles formed out of the compositions made by the process of the invention.
