abstract | Engine oil compositions for the four-cycle engine of a motorcycle comprise a lubricating base oil, (A) an organic molybdenum compound in an amount of 30 to 1,000 ppm of molybdenum by mass, (B) zinc dithiophosphate in an amount of 0.05 to 0.15 percent of phosphorus by mass, (C) a succinimide-based ashless dispersant in an amount of 10 percent by mass and in such an amount that the amount of nitrogen is 1.0 time or more of the molybdenum amount of the organic molybdenum compound, and (D) at least one member selected from the group consisting of phosphates, phosphites, and salts thereof in an amount of 0.005 to 0.2 percent of phosphorus by mass, all based on the total mass of the composition. The engine oil compositions have excellent friction properties leading to fuel efficiency and the ability to prevent a clutch from slipping. |
