There is disclosed a method of manufacturing a resin film-coated metal plate for welding tubes. The entire surface of a black plate for plating or a cold rolled plate, except for a region to be welded upon forming a 3-piece can, is coated with a strip of a resin film. Optionally, the plate may be electrically or chemically subjected to chemical conversion treatment in order to improve its corrosion resistance and film adherency. The resin film is made of polyester, polypropylene, polyolefin, nylon or the mixtures thereof and is bonded to the metal plate via an adhesive. On the region to be welded, that is, the region which is not coated with the resin film, plating is carried out with tin and/or nickel, to allow good weldability when forming a can in a resistance welding manner. |
