A scanner (10) includes a photodetector (26), a dc motor drive (14) and a gain compensation control (38, 40, 42) for non-linearly adjusting the gain of at least one channel of the photodetector (26). The gain compensation control (38, 40, 42) may adjust the gain by selecting different gain rates according to variations from a nominal exposure time. |
