This invention relates to a method for the preparation of cyclohexanedimethanol by the hydrogenation of the dialkyl cyclohexanedicarboxylate in the trickle bed reactor charge with a copper/zinc-containing granular heterogeneous catalyst, so as to prepare the cyclohexanedimethanol continuously. The method of this invention may be carried out under relatively mild conditions. |
