abstract The present invention provides a formulation and preparation method of a kind of tractable polyimides that are organic-soluble with controllable solubility and can afford films with excellent mechanical properties and good thermal stability. The polyimides were prepared from an aromatic diamine having (tert)-butyl group, i.e., 1,2-bis(4-aminophenoxy)-4-(tert)-butyl-benzene, or its mixture with other diamines, and a mixture of dianhydrides that containing s-BPDA, DSDA, ODPA, 6FDA or other diether-dianhydrides.
