abstract This invention intends to make a sizing agent for synthetic fiber warp showing a good sizing performance even with a small amount of application, and an excellent water resistance with no dropping of the sizing agent during weaving in water-jet-loom process, while showing excellent desizing efficiency. The sizing agent for synthetic fiber warp in this invention comprises of structural units (A)-(B), (D) shown below, and have characters of (i)-(iv). (A) Structural units originated from polyetherdiol or from polyetherdiol and polyesterdiol, of molecular weight of 500 to 2500, 20-60 weight %; (B) structural units originated from low-molecular weight diol having carboxyl groups, 3-15 weight %; and (D) structural units originated from diisocyanate compounds, 25-60 weight %; (i) content of NHCOO groups is 10-35 weight %; (ii) free isocyanate groups at molecular terminals are either blocked or converted to hydroxyl groups; (iii) the carboxyl groups are neutralized to form hydrophilic groups; (iv) weight ratio of polyetherdiol/polyesterdiol in (A) ranges 70/30-100/0.
