titleOfInvention Process for the treatment of desulfurization waste water
abstract This invention relates to a process for the treatment of desulfurization waste water discharged from a flue gas desulfurization system for absorbing and removing sulfur oxide gas from combustion exhaust gas by using an alkaline agent as the absorbent wherein the waste water is evaporated in an evaporator to reduce its volume and then kneaded with a solidification aid to form a solid material. Specifically, a solid-liquid separator (12) for separating gypsum is installed in a withdrawal line for withdrawing the thickened waste water from the evaporator (2), and gypsum is separated and recovered from the thickened waste water in the solid-liquid separator. All or part of the recovered gypsum is added to the evaporator or the waste water being fed to the evaporator, and any remaining portion of the recovered gypsum is discharged out of the system or returned to the desulfurizer so as to recover it together with gypsum formed in the desulfurizer. Moreover, the steam generated in the evaporator (2) is condensed to recover it as condensate, and the evaporator (2) is periodically washed with the recovered condensate. All or part of the gypsum recovered in the solid-liquid separator (12) may be crushed and added to the evaporator (2) or the waste water being fed to the evaporator (2).
