titleOfInvention | Color cathode ray tube and the manufacturing method thereof |
abstract | The color cathode ray tube of the present invention comprises a light absorbing layer (black layer) and an optical filter layer, both of which are disposed on the inner surface of a transparent panel, and a fluorescent layer formed thereon, wherein a length from a sealing end of the panel with respect to a funnel to a peripheral end of a light absorbing layer formed on the inner surface of a side wall is larger than or equal to a length up to a peripheral end of an optical filter layer formed on the inner surface of a side wall of the panel. Then, this color CRT is obtained by setting a length (trimming size a) from a sealing end of the panel to a peeling-off end of a light absorbing layer during a trimming process for a light absorbing layer to be not shorter than a length (trimming length b) from a sealing end of the panel to a peeling-off end of a filter layer during a trimming process for an optical filter layer. Thus, deposition and remaining of black pieces on the inner surface of the panel that may occur while trimming an optical filter layer can be prevented to provide a color CRT without display defects. |
