abstract The invention is directed to the method of preparing human erythropoietins comprising obtaining cDNA fragments encoding human erythropoietin, constructing expression vectors capable of expressing human erythropoietin in mammalian host cell lines with the fragments, and selecting mammalian host cell lines containing the expression vectors for the preparation of human erythropoietins. The invention also provides the aforementioned novel expression vectors and host cell lines.
