abstract Novel benzothiazole derivatives and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts for medical use are provided. The present invention relates to benzothiazole derivatives expressed by the following formula, in which R1 is a halogen, C1-6 alkyl, trifluoromethyl, ethyl amide, (methoxyethoxy)methoxy or -OX1, wherein X1 represents hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl or C1-6 carbonyl group; R2 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 hydroxyalkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, amine which can be substituted by C1-6 alkyl or C1-6 carbonyl, carboxyl which can be esterified by C1-6 alkyl, (methoxyethoxy)methoxy or -OX2, wherein X2 represents hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 carbonyl or C1-6 alkylcarboxyl which can be esterified by C1-6 alkyl; n, between 1 to 3, represents the number substituted by R2 in benzene ring, when n is 2 or 3, R2 may be identical or distinct, when R2 is hydrogen, R1 is a group except chloride. The compound of the present invention has such excellent pharmacological effect as to significantly decrease lipids in the blood such as cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density lipoproteins, thus useful as a novel therapeutic agent for hyperlipemia.
