Certain novel phenylsubstituted cyclopentenylhydroxyurea compounds having the ability to inhibit the 5-lipoxygenase enzyme and being dextrorotatory isomers of the compounds having the following formula: and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein R1 is hydrogen, fluoro or chloro; and R2 is hydrogen or methyl. These compounds are useful in the prevention, treatment or alleviation of inflammatory diseases, allergy and cardiovascular diseases in mammals, and as the active ingredient in pharmaceutical compositions. |
