abstract | The purpose of this invention is provided a semiconductor device having a protection circuit for clamping potential at an internal node connected to an external terminal, The semiconductor device in accordance with the present invention includes a first clamp circuit (10) connected between an internal node (NA) coupled to an external pin terminal (7) and a first reference voltage source for clamping the potential of the internal node (NA) at a first prescribed potential level, and a control circuit (30) responsive to a test mode designating signal (TEST1) for generating a control signal (IFG1) to selectively activate/deactivate the clamping function. In response to the monitored module activated signals, the output of a substrate voltage level generating circuit (15) for generating designated internal voltage selectively connects to the internal node (NA) to response to the control signal from a second control signal. |
