A substituted pyrazine derivative of the general formula I (I) where X is an oxygen or sulfur atom or a sulfoxyl or sulfonyl group; n is 0, 1 or 2; R1 and R2 are the same or different and each independently are hydrogen, nitro, halogen, C1-C12-haloalkyl; R3 is hydrogen; Z is a group (group) or (group) where Y is an oxygen or sulfur atom, R6 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; R4 is hydrogen; R5 is C1-C12 alkyl or phenyl, in which phenyl can be mono- or poly-substituted by a low molecular weight group selected from the following: halogen and haloalkyl; furthermore R5 is C3-C8 cycloalkyl; excluding 2-phenylthiopyrazine-2-hydrazide and 2-phenylthiopyrazine-6-amido acid, with the proviso that when X is O and n is 0 and Z is (group) X is not bonded to the pyrazine ring at the 6- position, and agriculturally useful salts of the compound I. |
