titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for removing COD from wastewater
abstract A method for removing chemical oxygen demand from influent wastewater by electrolysis/oxidization comprises the steps of: (1) introducing the influent wastewater into a pH-adjusting tank to adjust the pH to between 2 and 6; (2) introducing the influent wastewater after pH adjustment into an electrolyzing/oxidizing tank and then adding hydrogen peroxide to undergo electrolyzing/oxidizing reaction for a first hydraulic retention time, the anode of the electrolytic tank being made of metallic iron or steel, the cathode being made of iron, stainless steel, nickel, zinc or lead; (3) adjusting the pH of the effluent wastewater from electrolyzing/oxidizing tank to 6 to 9 to from ferrous hydroxide precipitate; and (4) separating the resultant ferrous hydroxide precipitate.
