abstract The present invention provides a preparation method of plate-shaped α-alumina particles, plate-shaped α-alumina particles prepared by the method, and pearlescent pigments containing the particles. The preparation method of the plate-shaped α-alumina particles includes the following steps: : Mixing and drying step (S1) of raw materials, seed (Seed) generation step (S2), and crystal growth step (S3). According to the present invention, by using pseudo-boehmite as a raw material and heat treatment according to step sintering, a narrow particle size distribution can be expressed, so that a plate-type α-alumina that can be usefully used as a pearlescent pigment can be produced.
