titleOfInvention Temperature control of medical device
abstract A method includes increasing or decreasing a temperature of an oximeter device by cycling oximetry measurements and temperature adjustment at a predetermined frequency. During temperature adjustment, power supplied to LEDs of the oximeter device may be modulated to heat or cool the oximeter device if the oximetry device is above a temperature setpoint or below the temperature setpoint. The system unit can also display a message on a display of the device for a user to pick up the system unit to warm the oximeter device with the user's body heat if the temperature of the oximetry device is below the temperature setpoint and place the oximeter device on a surface if the temperature of the oximeter device is above the temperature setpoint so that the user removes the oximeter device from the user's hand.
