A phosphor plate of the invention comprises a plate-shaped composite material including a base material and a phosphor dispersed in the base material, wherein the primary component of the base material is alumina, the phosphor contains an [alpha]-SiAlON phosphor, and in the L*a*b* color space measured according to JIS Z 8781-4, the L* value is at least 73.5 but not more than 85.0, the a* value is at least 4.4 but not more than 8.0, and the b* value is at least 10.8 but not more than 13.0. |
