abstract The average particle diameter D (μm) of the silicon dioxide-titanium dioxide composite oxide powder of the present invention is 0.1 μm or more and 3.0 μm or less, and the average refractive index at a measurement wavelength of 589 nm is 1.47 or more. The minimum absorbance S measured when the composite oxide particles are dispersed at 30% by mass in a liquid having the same refractive index as the average refractive index satisfies the relationship of "S<0.026-0.008×D".
