abstract |
This invention provides an iron-based oxide magnetic powder having good thermal stability with small change in coercivity even in a high temperature environment, that is formed of a [epsilon] iron oxide in which a part of Fe site is substituted by other metal elements; this invention also provides a method for producing iron-based oxide magnetic powder. An acidic aqueous solution containing trivalent iron ions and metal ions for partially replacing a part of Fe site is neutralized to produce a precipitate of an iron hydroxide containing the substituting metal elements, and a silane compound is used to coat silicon oxide on the precipitate while phosphorus-containing ions are brought into co-existing, thereby obtaining an iron-based oxide magnetic powder, the iron-based oxide magnetic powder having good thermal stability with small change in coercivity even in a high temperature environment, that is formed of particles of a [epsilon] iron oxide in which a part of Fe site is substituted by other metal elements. |
