abstract The present disclosure is a substrate for a liquid filter comprising a polyolefin microporous membrane, wherein a mean flow pore size in a pore size distribution of the polyolefin microporous membrane measured by a half dry method according to gas-liquid phase substitution is from 1 nm to 50 nm, a content of calcium in the polyolefin microporous membrane is 1 ppb to 2000 ppb, and a ratio (MD/TD tensile elongation ratio) of the tensile elongation in the longitudinal direction (MD) of the polyolefin microporous membrane and the tensile elongation in the width direction (TD) orthogonal to the longitudinal direction is 0.47 or more and less than 0.96, or more than 1.25 and 7 or less.
