abstract The present invention relates to a use of Hsian-tsao ( Mesona procumbens Hemsl.) extracts for preparing a pharmaceutical composition for promoting wound healing. The extracts according to the present invention, e.g. ethanol extracts of Hsian-tsao or polysaccharides from water extracts of Hsian-tsao, can regulate wound healing related factors and thus enhance wound healing. As such, the Hsian-tsao ( Mesona procumbens Hemsl.) extracts can be applied to improve the diabetic wound healing and decrease the risk of infection.
