A cemented carbide, characterized in that it contains 55-90 parts by mass of tungsten carbide particles and 10-45 parts by mass of a combined phase containing iron as a main component. The combined phase has the following composition and contains 0.5-10% by mass of Nickel, 0.2 to 2% by mass of carbon, 0.5 to 5% by mass of chromium, 0.2 to 2.0% by mass of silicon, and 0.1 to 5% by mass of tungsten, and the remainder is composed of iron and unavoidable impurities; and The cemented carbide contains 0.05-2.0 area% of particles containing iron-silicon-oxygen as a main component. |
