abstract One embodiment of the present invention is a light-emitting element including an EL layer between a pair of electrodes. The EL layer includes a first compound and a second compound. The first compound is a phosphorescent iridium metal complex having a LUMO energy level of -3.5 eV or more and -2.5 eV or less, and the second compound is an organic compound containing a pyrimidine skeleton. In addition, another aspect of the present invention is a light-emitting element including an EL layer between a pair of electrodes. The EL layer includes a first compound and a second compound. The first compound is a phosphorescent iridium metal complex containing a diazine skeleton and the second compound is an organic compound containing a pyrimidine skeleton.
