Inhibition of SCUBE2, a novel VEGFR2 co-receptor, inhibits tumor angiogenesis |
abstract |
The present invention discloses an isolated SCUBE2 antibody or a binding fragment thereof. The SCUBE2 antibody comprises an antigen binding region that specifically binds to the target domain of SCUBE2 (SEQ ID NO: 66) and is capable of inhibiting VEGF-induced angiogenesis. The target domain is selected from the following structural regions: EGF-like motifs of SCUBE2 (SEQ ID NO: 66) 4 to 6 (aa 175 to 323), spacer region (aa441) To 659), or the first cys-rich motif (aa668 to 725). The SCUBE2 antibody or a binding fragment thereof can be used for treating a disease associated with VEGF-induced angiogenesis in an individual in need thereof, for example, by suppressing tumor angiogenesis and achieving the purpose of reducing cancer cell growth. |
