Electronic control of drug administration via a hypodermic needle device |
abstract |
A hypodermic needle device with a dose dispensing mechanism and a method of using these hypodermic needle devices are disclosed. The dosage-dispensing mechanism may be an electronically controlled pump. The dosage-dispensing mechanism may be used to measure a specific dose of medicine while compensating for environmental factors such as temperature and pressure. The dose-dispensing mechanism allows the device to be used by patients for self-administration, because regardless of the environmental conditions at the time of delivery, a specific dose of medicine can be delivered accurately. The specific dose can be set using the device or remotely, and the fingerprint sensor can be used to prevent the injection of medicine into the wrong patient. |
