abstract Hydroquinone-3,4'-biphenyldicarboxylate polyesters and their methods of manufacture are described. The polyester can be melt processed at temperatures below the pyrolysis temperature and the isotropic temperature and can form a liquid crystal glass phase. The polyester can be formed by a polycondensation reaction of hydroquinone or hydroquinone derivative with 3,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid.
