abstract SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a method for easily extracting calcium from a steelmaking slag by eluting a larger amount of calcium from a steelmaking slag into an aqueous solution containing carbon dioxide. The present invention for achieving the object is directed to a method of eluting calcium from steelmaking slag. In the present invention, the steelmaking slag contained in the slurry containing the steelmaking slag and introduced with carbon dioxide is allowed to settle inside the elution/settling tank, and the concentration of the steelmaking slag in the slurry is increased. A slurry in which the concentration of the steelmaking slag is increased is taken out from the elution and settling tank. The steelmaking slag contained in the taken-out slurry is pulverized or the surface of the steel-making slag contained in the taken-out slurry is ground. The slurry containing the pulverized or ground steelmaking slag is reintroduced into the elution and settling tank.
