This article provides methods and devices for analyzing particles in a sample and other aspects. In some aspects, the particles can be an analyte, a cell, a nucleic acid, or a protein and can be brought into contact with a tag, dispensed into aliquots, detected by a classification device, and separated. The methods and devices provided herein may include microfluidic wafers. In some aspects, the methods and devices can be used to quantify rare particles in a sample, such as cancer cells and other rare cells used for disease diagnosis, prognosis or treatment. |
