The present invention provides compositions and methods for modulating (e.g., eliminating, reducing, blocking) the production of immunoglobulin A (IgA) cells for activation or immunosuppressive function. The invention also provides methods for treating IgA related diseases (eg, cancer) in a subject. In one embodiment, the method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to the membrane-anchored IgA. The invention also provides methods for preventing, detecting or diagnosing cancer in a subject having an immunosuppressive microenvironment. |
