abstract The present invention provides a method and an optical device for manufacturing an optical device capable of forming a desired hardened resin layer regardless of the shape of a cover member. The mold member 4 having the fitting convex portion 11 fitted in the opening portion 2 is tightly laminated on the cover member 1 having the opening portion 2 so that the fitting convex portion 11 is fitted in the opening portion 2 so as to be filled with hardenability. The hollow laminated body 5 of the resin 6 is filled with the curable resin 6 into the hollow portion of the laminated body 5, the hardened resin 6 is hardened to form a hardened resin layer 7 on the cover member 1, and the mold member 4 is removed from the cover member 1. The hardened resin layer 7 is peeled, and the optical member 3 is bonded.
