The heavy metal adsorbent of the present invention is composed of silicon dioxide and magnesium oxide composite particles in which silicon dioxide and magnesium oxide are integrated, and the pore volume measured by the mercury intrusion method at a pore diameter of 3.5 to 10.0 nm is 0.26 ~ 0.50mL / g, the pore volume at 3.5 ~ 5000.0nm is in the range of 1.30 ~ 2.50mL / g, and the compressive strength is 1.5MPa or more. The heavy metal adsorbent of the present invention is inexpensive, does not contain aluminum, and has high removal performance for heavy metals in flowing water, especially for lead. |
