abstract Various embodiments include a multi-color micro LED array light source that enables light beams of different colors to overlap well. The multi-color micro LED array light source includes: a thermally conductive substrate; and a plurality of micro LED arrays of different colors, which are integrated on the thermally conductive substrate. The micro LEDs in each array are electrically connected so that they can all be driven together. The multi-color array light source also includes a controller, which is electrically coupled to the micro LED arrays and drives the micro LED arrays. The controller drives the micro LEDs in a manner that produces an output light distribution having a spatial wavelength and an angular distribution suitable for use as a light source.
