abstract A bismuth based heterojunction solar cell comprising the following components. The substrate has opposing first and second surfaces. The first intrinsic semiconductor layer is disposed on the first surface. The second intrinsic semiconductor layer is disposed on the second surface. The P-type semiconductor layer is disposed on the first intrinsic semiconductor layer. The first electrode is disposed on the P-type semiconductor layer. The N-type semiconductor layer is disposed on the second intrinsic semiconductor layer. The second electrode is disposed on the N-type semiconductor layer. The thickness of the first intrinsic semiconductor layer and the thickness of the second intrinsic semiconductor layer are respectively 10 nm to 20 nm. At least one germanium quantum dot is included in each of the first intrinsic semiconductor layer and the second intrinsic semiconductor layer.
