Methods for preparing nitrostyrene fluoropolymers with different degrees of substitution are disclosed herein. The nitrostyrene fluoropolymer provides extremely high birefringence in the range of 0.02 to 0.036. In addition, the birefringence can be adjusted by changing the substitution degree (DS) of the nitro group on the styrene ring to meet the needs of optical compensation film applications. More specifically, the optical compensation film of the present invention is used in an in-plane switching LCD (IPS-LCD) and an OLED display. |
