The present inventors have unexpectedly discovered that the plant Lactobacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum PS128 provides a beneficial effect in the treatment or prevention of tic disorder and basal ganglia conditions. Accordingly, the present invention provides a method of treating or preventing dyskinesia in an individual comprising administering to the individual an effective amount of a cell of the Lactobacillus plantarum plant subsp. PS128 deposited with the DSMZ accession number DSM 28632. |
