This invention relates to the manufacture of 1-hexene and octene from ethylene. 1-butene is also produced as appropriate. The problem to be solved by the present invention is to develop a process for producing 1-hexene from ethylene by etherification of MTHxE to achieve better chemical utilization of the carbon atoms used. The inverse problem by MTHxE catalytically cracked into olefins and C 6 alcohols, alcohol reused in the etherification, the C and the resulting reaction of olefins with ethylene provided to solve C. 8 olefins. In this way, the alcohol is not lost from the process, but is recycled internally as a derivatizing agent. The lesser C6 olefins from the cracked product are upgraded to octene with additional ethylene to provide additional commercial products. |
