The present invention is a method for producing a negative electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. The negative electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes silicon compound particles, the silicon compound particles include lithium, and the negative electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
