abstract | The present invention is directed to a method of making a monoalkylated aromatic compound using a treated catalyst made by the process disclosed herein. The method comprises the step of heating an untreated catalyst to form a treated catalyst in the presence of a gaseous stream having a dew point temperature of less than about 5 °C. This treatment is effective for improving catalyst activity and selectivity. |
