abstract Provided is a method for producing a high-purity 2-cyanoacylate by depolymerizing a polycondensate of 2-cyanoacrylate (salt) at a low temperature and for a short period of time. A solution of a polycondensate of a cyanoacetic ester and a formaldehyde is added to the solution to carry out depolymerization, and the obtained depolymerized composition is neutralized with an acid to remove the formed salt.
