abstract | The present invention provides a liquid crystal alignment film which is excellent in characteristics such as imparting an alignment control ability with high efficiency, and a voltage maintenance ratio, and a polymer composition and a horizontal electric field drive type liquid crystal display element which can be obtained. The present invention provides a polymer composition obtained by contacting a composition comprising (A) a photosensitive side chain type polymer exhibiting liquid crystallinity in a predetermined temperature range and (B) an organic solvent, and an ion exchange resin. a step of applying the composition to a substrate having a conductive film for driving a horizontal electric field to form a coating film, a step of irradiating the obtained coating film with a polarized ultraviolet ray, and a step of heating the obtained coating film with a liquid crystal alignment film A method of manufacturing a substrate. |
