abstract |
A specific example of a display device including a barrier layer coated quantum dot and a method of manufacturing the barrier layer coated quantum dot will be described herein. Each of the barrier layer coated quantum dots includes a core-shell structure and a hydrophobic barrier layer disposed on the core-shell structure. The hydrophobic barrier layer is configured to provide a distance between a core-shell structure of a quantum dot and a core-shell structure of other quantum dots in substantial contact with the one quantum dot. A method of making the barrier layer coated quantum dots includes forming an anti-microcell using a surfactant and incorporating quantum dots into the anti-microcell. The method additionally includes individually coating a barrier layer on the incorporated quantum dots, and isolating the barrier layer coated quantum dots of the surfactant with the anti-microcells on the barrier layer. |
