Methods and compositions for treating and alleviating retinal degeneration using conditioned media such as post-natal derived cell precursor cells and precursor cells are disclosed. Genetic elements and receptors that are expressed by precursor cells, help protect retinal cells, and inhibit apoptosis of retinal cells (eg, photoreceptor cells) are also disclosed. |
