abstract | The present invention provides a method for stably and safely producing acetic acid without causing an increase in pressure in the distillation column. The method comprises the steps of: (1) a carbonylation reaction step of reacting methanol with carbon monoxide; (2) a rapid step for separating the reaction mixture into a volatile phase and a low volatile phase; (3) separating the volatile phase for distillation a first distillation step of forming the first overhead product and the acetic acid-rich crude acetic acid stream; and (4) a separation step for separating at least the acetaldehyde from the first overhead product. The separation step (4) comprises the following steps: (6) arranging a pressure control unit 68 in the distillation column, in order to control the pressure in the column and simultaneously distill the first overhead product, separating into acetaldehyde-rich and methyl iodide-rich 2, an overhead distillation step, and a second distillation step of the bottom or lower stream; and (7) extracting acetaldehyde from the second overhead product, separating into an acetaldehyde-rich extract, and enriching with methyl iodide The extraction step of the raffinate. |
